EXPERIMENTAL BIO-GARDEN AT MIL
Our experimental bio-garden is next to MIL; it is a proving ground, aiming for organic production. The bio-garden has a circular design and is divided into platforms that hold several vegetables, aromatic plants, and a variety of native tubers and cereals.
This space was co-created by Mater Iniciativa and ¡Por Eso, Perú! NGO. It was developed for the mutual purpose of providing technical training to the members of the neighbouring communities that belong to our Mater Conexo program. We want them to improve the productivity of their family farms, applying the bio-intensive agriculture method. As an extension of this project, we are developing communal bio-gardens in Mullak’ as-Misminay and Kacllaraccay surrounding communities. Our aim is to let them access to a variety of vegetables of high nutritional value, which they can grow, harvest and consume themselves.
