Cindy Valdez carried out a project aiming to identify and collect different types of clay in the area.
Cindy's work, a product designer by trade, focused on creating pieces with history. Together with Santiago Pilco from the Kaccllaracay community and a Mater Initiative collaborator, Cindy collected clays of different types and colors in the Moray area. He identified them and also made mixtures with the maguey gum as glue, creating test pieces and using the stone kiln to finish them. At the end of his work, he held a workshop and shared his work with the community.
This project aimed to capture Moray's environment, both in the input used and in the form, bringing it to MIL via the pieces. Through it, she also wanted to enhance the value of the land and people living in the nearby.
