By integrating satellite data with on-the-ground observations, researchers Pierina Milla and Jhan-Carlo Espinoza analyze rainfall cycles, the frequency of extreme weather events, and the atmospheric conditions that shape them. This research seeks to answer essential questions: How has the local climate evolved? What shifts have occurred in the rainfall regime? What are the implications for the communities that depend on this land?

A FUTURE SHAPED
BY ENVIRONMENTAL SHIFTS

More than just an observational effort, Moray 1 serves as the foundation for developing climate resilience strategies. The findings will help Mullakas Misminay and K’acllaraccay communities adapt to changing weather conditions, safeguard their agricultural practices, and ensure long-term food security. By deepening our understanding of Moray’s climate, this project reinforces the connection between scientific research and community well-being, offering tangible solutions for a future shaped by environmental shifts.
